Cadets on the Squadron undertake instruction in aviation related subjects; this is an important part of the cirriculum on the Squadron. As cadets on the squadron progress through the classifications, they will receive a higher level of responsibility and will have more optitions available to them not only within the squadron but possibly at wing level. Every cadet has a classification making it seperate from rank.
When you first join the Squadron you will become a Junior Cadet. This period normally lasts for one month, at the end of this period you are issued with uniform.
SECOND CLASS CADET
Once a cadet hs reeived their uniform, we invite the Squadron Padre to conduct n enrolment cereomy, where cadets become a Second Class Cadet. There is no bdge for this clssification, but cadets are able to begin their trianing for their First Class badge.
To become a First Class cadet within the Squadron, cadets must partcipate in a training programme which includes undertaking a basic drill test. Cadets are required to undertake simple tests where their first class badge will be issued once complete. Once completed they are eligible to participate in flying, gliding, shooting , UK camps etc. At set intervals throughout the year they are then able to increase their knowledge and progress up the classification structure to obtain their next badge.
